Windows and doorways with double sliding doors are all areas that have many solutions for dressing them. Drapes are still very popular in homes where problems with heat and strong glare are not an issue, and they do look very nice and enhance their surrounds. Many people like to use roller blinds as they can just pull them down when the sun hits the window and roll them up when the sun has moved away. If there are no privacy issues, then this is quite an acceptable solution for these areas. Otherwise there are plenty of other solutions readily available.
Venetian blinds that now come in a few different materials are great at solving, sun, glare and privacy problems as are shutters, either exterior or internal. New materials in both these items have made them desirable items because of their added heat control, offering better insulating properties than some other window treatments. They also enhance the home like other window dressings do and are good quality and practical solutions for many problems. Vertical blinds are also an item many people are becoming more aware of with great advances made in their manufacture and more available colours.
Vertical blinds are window blinds with the slats up and down, not horizontally, and floor length style gives complete coverage for double doors. Nowadays the slats can be pulled to either side of the door opening which is a great advantage if you want to block direct sun but keep them open enough to let the light in and to see out. Just pull the slats along the track to where you want it to be and swivel them to where it is just right for you. You have an arc of 180 degrees to play with so you should have no problem with your light control. The header track now has stainless steel spacer links making for even overlapping of the slats at all times.
Whereas older styles of vertical blinds had cord controls on both sides of the blind, the modern ones are both on the same side so you can control the slide and swivel from the same place. This is a much more convenient improvement, saving a walk from one end of the blind to the other. Materials in the vertical blinds can be plain or textured and both have a range of colours and two different styles, block out or translucent.
